This year’s Hall of Fame members are Jon’na Bailey, of Pickens Alexis “Brianna” Berry, of Brandon Grace Louise Dragna, of Mandeville, Louisiana Ella Rose Endorf, of North Bend, Nebraska Madison Cecile Gordon, of Meridian Katelin Virginia Hayward, of Grenada Reinhard Matthew Knerr, of Paducah, Kentucky Coleman Merrick McCool, of Oxford Ian Vaughn Pigg, of Clifton, Tennessee and Devan Devon Williams, of Jackson. Former Ole Miss All-American offensive lineman Richard 'Possum' Price will join the large Rebel contingent in the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame next year, as the organization announced its 2019 induction class on Thursday. Selections are based on outstanding contributions in all aspects of campus life. The inductees were selected by a committee in accordance with policy developed by the Associated Student Body. Wooten also led all players with five steals while hitting 13 of his 20 shot attempts. With a 20-point lead and its offense clicking, Albany did not let OU get any closer that 16 the rest of the way as the Danes went on to take the win. But the Golden Grizzlies offense could only come up with a pair of points over the next three minutes and Albany took advantage, extending its lead to 75-54 on a jumper from Jason Siggers. Albany got its lead up to 17 points on a trey from Levi Levine, but Oakland fought back and cut the lead to 12 at 64-52 after a lay-up by Patrick McCloskey (Marshall, Mich.) with 12 minutes left in the contest. Albany came out in the second half as hot as they were in the first, with their first three baskets all coming from three-point range as the Danes opened a 57-42 lead four minutes in. Albany did have a 46-29 lead at one point, but a 6-2 run by the Golden Grizzlies to end the half cut the lead to 48-35 at the half. With 21 points in the half, Wooten almost single-handedly kept the Golden Grizzlies in it, but Albany?s 51 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes was enough to keep OU from getting too close. With the game tied at 18-all with 11 minutes left in the half, the Danes got hot and scored 14 straight points, five from Jamar Wilson, to take a 32-18 lead three minutes later. After that, however, Albany?s offense came to life. Wooten then showed that his long-range shooting was on for the evening, hitting two more treys that put OU up 14-10. Albany had an 8-5 lead early on, but OU?s first trey of the season from Wooten tied the score up at the 15:15 mark. Oakland drew the first blood of the season with a David Carson (Gary, Ind.) basket 20 seconds in and over the first five minutes of the contest the two teams battled to a draw. OU could not overcome the hot shooting Danes, who hit on 56.5 percent of their shots, including connecting on 13-of-19 from long range to secure the win.
